System III · KT-7 Series · Online DOD · TIJ Handheld
TIJ & DOD.
Resolution at one end. Reach at the other.
Two complementary disciplines, configured by Techtron to a single line. Thermal inkjet for high-resolution barcodes on cartons; drop-on-demand for bold, large-character codes on bags, drums, and pallets.
Two Disciplines
Pixels for the carton.
Strokes for the pallet.
Thermal inkjet (TIJ) uses an HP-derived cartridge head — a dense array of resistors that vaporises ink through hundreds of microscopic nozzles. The result is print resolution of 300 dpi: scannable barcodes, QR codes, and crisp text on the smallest carton.
Drop-on-Demand (DOD) is the opposite end of the spectrum. Larger solenoid valves fire heavier droplets through coarser nozzles at long throw distances. The mark is bold, legible from across the warehouse floor — at character heights of 12 to 50 millimetres.
A single Techtron-designed line frequently uses both: a KT-7 TIJ for the unit carton barcode, a UKCM Online DOD for the case-pack code, and a TIJ Handheld for off-conveyor and pallet marking. One supplier. One service contract. One UAE response number.
The Platforms
Three configurations.
One marking line.
Specify by mark size and substrate. The KT-7 TIJ for high-res, Online DOD for inline large-character, TIJ Handheld for portable off-line marking.

Inline Large-Character
Solenoid valve-based inline coder for cases, sacks, drums, and pallets travelling on the conveyor. Bold characters at long throw distance, low operating cost.

TIJ Handheld Printer
Portable, Cordless Marking
A battery-powered TIJ unit, ABS body with ergonomic grip, single or double-head, for retrofitting batch codes, serial numbers, or logos to oversize, fixed, or off-conveyor product — sacks, drums, wood crates, cable reels. No rail, no fixture, just a pass of the hand.
- Form factorHandheld, 800 g, 14.4V battery
- Resolution300 / 600 dpi (half-height)
- Print height2–12.7 / 2–25.4 / 2–48 mm
- Battery life4+ h continuous
- Best forSacks · Drums · Crates · Cable
Applications
From carton barcode to pallet code.
Most facilities use TIJ and DOD on the same line. A unit-carton 600-dpi GS1 barcode, then a 25 mm shipper code at the case-packer.

And the pallet.
Most production lines need both. Send us the package hierarchy — primary, secondary, tertiary — and we'll return the marking architecture.
